Synchwire construction is stitchless and its advanced composites are what allow Giro to build an outstanding road shoe with elevated structural integrity. The Imperial shoes new closure is what sets it apart from the rest of the lineup with dual BOA lP1 buckles reeling in the cables in and out 1mm increments through soft nylon lace guides. Made with thermo-bonded film providing overall durability, a non-woven internal sheet distributes the force from the BOA dials for direct power transfer, and the monofilament mesh provides the cool ventilation. Additionally, the Imperial Road shoe also has Thermal-welded Teijin TPU for added structural support in the uppers where it is needed.
Giro worked closely with the engineers at Easton to develop a proprietary sole for a direct connection to the pedals with compromising comfort. The EC90 SLX2 carbon fiber plate sole is designed to provide stiffness and minimal weight and stack height for efficient power transfer. Giro kept the adjustable Super Natural Fit cycling-specific footbed in the Imperial Bike shoe allowing you to customize arch support with its low, medium and high supports right out of the box for the optimal fit and pedal power.
