Bontrager Shoe Information

Built around ergonomic inForm lasts, and high-performance outsoles, Bontrager has endeavored to create superior shoes that will help you edge out the competition. Providing a large offering of both men's and women's shoes in every price range, you're sure to find something that will suit your needs.

Gnarguard
An extra layer of defense for the upper to keep feet protected from trail debris. It is found on several of Bontrager's mountain shoes.

Lightning Mesh
A variety of TPU coated mesh that is used in the upper that offers lighweight breathability and flexibility. It helps keep feet cool and dry during long rides. It can be found on various Bontrager road and mountain shoes.

inForm Pro Last
Bontrager's high-performance last that provides you with an ergonomic fit to maximize pedalling efficiency. It is used on Bontrager's mid to high-end road and mountain shoes.

inForm Race Last
Allowing for a roomier fit than the Pro last, the inForm Race Last is still guranteed to provide you with excellent pedalling efficiency. It is used on Bontrager's entry-level and mid-range road and mountain shoes.

inForm Performance Last
Designed with versatility in mind, the inForm Performance Last combines on-bike pedalling efficiency with off-bike walkability. It is primarily used on Bontrager's multisport shoes.

inForm Footbed
Bontrager's most commonly used insole, the inForm Footbed is ergonomically designed to provide great arch support, and long-lasting comfort. It is found on nearly all of Bontrager's shoes.

inForm Heat Moldable Footbed
The inForm Heat Moldable Footbed is allows for customizable arch support to provide you with longer-lasting comfort. It is included with Bontrager's RXL Road and RXL MTB shoes, and is also available separately.

Platinum Series Sole
The Platinum Series Sole is Bontrager's stiffest outsole, comprised of 100% carbon, and designed to provide you with maximum pedalling efficiency. It can be found on some of Bontrager's high-end road and mountain shoes. 

Gold Series Sole
Not quite as stiff as the Platinum Sole, but still lightweight, and still 100% carbon to deliver excellent pedalling efficiency. It can currently be found on the RXL Road shoes.

Silver Series Sole
Composed of a carbon/fiberglass composite, the Silver Series sole still provides great efficiency, despite not being a full carbon sole. It is typically found on Bontrager's mid-range mountain and road shoes.

Bronze Series Sole
The Bronze Series Sole consists of a carbon/nylon composite to provide a great balance between comfort and efficiency. It is used on Bontrager's entry-level road and mountain shoes.

Bontrager Stiffness Index
In 2013, Bontrager began using a Stiffness Index to evaluate the outsoles of their shoes. They have assigned their shoes a number between 1 and 14 to describe the stiffness of the outsole, with 1 being the most flexible, and 14 being the stiffest. Many of their shoes will actually display this number on the outsole of the shoe.

Micro-Fit II Buckle
A new, low-profile version of the origianl Micro-Fit Buckles, these buckles combine with ratcheting straps to create a secure closure system with easily replaceable parts. They are found on almost all of Bontrager's road and mountain shoes. 

Boa Closures
Boa has become one of the most popular companies that makes rotary ratchet closures. Initially developed for use with ski boots, the Boa closures have become extremely popular on cycling shoes, across various brands. Bontrager's newest XXX Road and XXX MTB shoes both utilize IP1 Boa dials.
