The Shimano PD-ME700 SPD is a new dual sided pedal and replaces Shimano’s long standing Deore-level PDM530, with a 7.7mm wider body than the outgoing model. The new pedal features a raised rear portion, which is said to bring up to 12.2 percent more of the pedal body in contact with the bike shoe. Created with an extended platform for secure foot support helping to protect the binding mechanism and full alloy body with a steel axle that spins on reliable cup-and-cone bearings.
